Digital Pressure, Temperature, Density, Dual String Collar Locator Survey
Sonic Surveys Cavern Density Logging tools are specifically designed to accurately determine liquid interface levels. Commonly used for inventory verification, MIT logging, locating the top of washouts behind cemented casings. The cavern density log is essential for confirming accurate product volumes in the storage cavern industry. Utilizing the Dual String Collar Locator technology, you can be assured to have the most accurate depth correlation to the cemented casing shoe.
Also available with slim-hole capabilities with a 1 1/4" O.D. Tool.
Digital Pulsed Neutron Survey
Our pulsed neutron tools are used for locating blanket materials in leaching and brine production caverns, as well as interfaces behind multiple strings of casing. Our Pulsed Neutron tool responds to chlorine changes in the surrounding medium. The Neutrons bombard the medium surrounding the tool. When there is chlorine present, the neutrons collide with the chlorine atoms causing a loss of energy, in effect lowering the count rate of neutrons returning to the tools detector. The count rate can also be controlled by the operator using tool settings to gain the best results depending on the medium (a.e. undersaturated brine, freshwater, etc..) by changing the time between sending and capture of neutrons to optimize the curve response.
Digital Sonar Caliper
Sonic Surveys and Flodim have teamed up to provide state of the art sonar instruments and cutting-edge cavity viewing software to the USA Underground Storage and Solution Mining Industry. The team that we have built is dedicated to providing the highest quality product and customer service that Sonic’s clients have learned to depend on for 40 years. The latest version of our tool incorporates additional and upgraded sensors to bring our technology to the highest standards. We have the capability to run deviation, depth correlation, and pressure/temperature versus depth logs, and then survey the cavity with horizontal and tilted sections. The added feature of the Dual String Collar Locator assures that all survey depths are accurate and agree with all logs run on the cavity to ensure consistency. Our field specialists are highly trained in industry-leading acquisition and processing software. By using real-time processing, and visual representations of the cavity, we can be sure before our tool leaves the cavity, all possible data points are collected. With state of the art instruments and post-processing software, we are able to provide on-time, detailed reports. Our customer viewer software is user friendly and can help our customers monitor the life of their wells.
Explorer Tool
Our Instrumented Explorer Tool is an intelligent gauge tool that incorporates two sensors to ensure accurate depth correlation while guaranteeing safe subsequent wireline logging. With an O.D. of 2 7/8”, the explorer tool is used as a gauge run for our Digital Sonar Caliper. The tool includes a Z-axis inclinometer sensor. With this, the explorer tool can quickly detect the overall deviation of the tubing in real-time. With this feature, we can make accurate assessments of where to make tubing cuts before wasting rig time trying to pull the bent pipe. Additionally, the tool includes a Dual String Collar Locator. With this, we can ensure precise depth correlation by detecting two concentric tubing joints and the cemented casing. Using this in conjunction with the dual string collar locator on our Digital sonar caliper tool we can ensure the most accurate, depth correlated cavern sonar surveys in the industry.
Collar Locator Survey
The collar locator survey is used to confirm or correlate treatment depth using known reference points on the casing string. The casing collar locator is an electric logging tool that detects the magnetic anomaly caused by the relatively high mass of the casing collar. A signal is transmitted to surface equipment that provides a screen display and printed log enabling the output to be correlated with previous logs and known casing features such as pup joints installed for correlation purposes. Mainly used for gauge runs, and locating hanging string depth in relation to T.D.
